Summer visits to the high country of the Canyon’s North Rim have become a tradition for us. We alternate between the forest lands on the west and east of the highway between Jacob’s Lake and the rim. This year we camped at Jacob Lake before continuing on and were delighted to attend a free photography class presented by one of the owners of the Jacob Lake restaurant, hotel, and trading post. The class was fabulous, as was his photography, which was for sale in the trading post. Susan always has a lot to learn but even Bob picked up a few tips he tried out later. Our next camping area was Timp Point near one end of the Rainbow Bike Trail. We stayed there for a week, hiking and biking daily, enjoyed the serenity and the sunsets. We then moved to the east side rim camp with lovely Marble Canyon views, where we stayed for about three days. We were supposed to meet dear friend Mark Jennings and his new bride Rosemary for a couple of days but Susan had some health issues during a round trip hike on the North Canyon trail and we had to return to civilization.
